What We Believe
The following are the core beliefs of Carlisle Christian Fellowship based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these biblical doctrines.
We believe there is one God who created all things. God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Deuteronomy 6:4).
We believe that no one can receive eternal life apart from faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized by full immersion for the remission of our sins. (Acts 2:38).
We believe in the transformational power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. (Acts 2:4).
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a Spirit-filled church and a Bible-based church. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and must be taken seriously.
